365 Things to Do In Naperville -#161-TED x is Back!

TED^x is returning to Naperville 11-11-11!

It has been about 18 months since this innovative event was held her in Naperville. And it was quite an event! Wondering what TED^x Naperville is? Here is a description from their web site.

What is TED^x? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TED^x. TED^x is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TED^xNaperville, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TED^xNaperville event, TEDTalks video and live
speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TED^x program, but individual TED^x events, including ours, are self-organized.

From my own experience, I found the first one exciting, thought provoking, and entertaining. As an added plus, I reconnected with one of the speakers. We had first me back in the mid 80′s during a project at the University of Illinois, In Urbana-Champaign and hadn’t seen each other since then. And, the ladder drummers from Naperville Central were absolutely amazing!

Over the last year or so I have become quite a fan of TED. The incredible assemblage of talent, intelligence, and personality that gather each year to present new and exciting concepts and ideas is quite mind-boggling. Guess what? TEDx is coming to Naperville in March of 2010. The information below is excerpted from their site.
