I still enjoy technology and tweaking. I love this webhub* I have built for my real estate business. I enjoy tweaking it and revamping it and fine tuning it. Sometimes going deeper into the code I have broken it. Why, because I want a real estate webhub that is informative, easy to use, and delivers appropriate information. I try to provide the latest in search tools and  timely statistical information on what is happening in real estate in our local markets. I try to provide local perspective and insight that you won’t get anywhere else. And finally, I provide some local color and exposure for people places and things Naperville in 365 Naperville.

This latest revamp delivers a new gateway to the deeper pages. Information and similar pages are in clusters, easily accessed. It’s cleaner, and hopefully simpler, without sacrificing depth and quality. There is an new Home Page (up there in the left corner of the menu bar), and a separate page for this blog. Take it for a spin, let me know your thoughts. Let me know if you can find what you are looking for quickly and easily.

*Webhub combines the features of a static website with a blog and other dynamic content. It feeds and links other sites and platforms to deliver a uniform message and maximize exposure for content.

The lane reductions are required to complete work related to the 75th and Washington Intersection Improvement Project. Access to Clyde Drive from westbound 75th Street will also be closed at this time.

All work involving major lane closures on 75th Street and Washington Street is slated for completion in mid-August….”

I read them online via an email subscription, but you can also follow them on Twitter and become a fan of their Facebook page. One of their annual features is underway right now and that is The Best of Naperville, 2010. Voting started in December 2009 and continues until June 15, 2010. Winners and one year’s bragging rights will be announced at their dinner on July 29, 2010 at the Hotel Arista.

There are 40 different categories, covering food, drink, professional services, etc. And, following an old Chicago tradition, you can vote 10 times (legally in this case)! So go ahead, log in and join me in voting for your favorites

Oh, one other thing…..if they had a category for Sports Personalities…..Evan Lysacek, Sean Payton, Candace Parker, Jerry Hairiston Jr, all world champions in the past year and all tied to Naperville – who would you vote for?

It is finally here, Aurora! The new, all electronic interchange at Eola Rd and I88 will open tonight, November 20th, 2009 and get this – it is reported to have come in on time and $14 million under budget! The following is excerpted from the Illinois Tollway press release issued earlier today:

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – Illinois Tollway, DuPage County and City of Aurora officials celebrated the completion of a new, full-access Interchange featuring all-electronic tolling at Eola Road and the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) to help reduce congestion on the local road network in Aurora and Naperville. DuPage County Board Chairman Robert Schillerstrom, Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner, and Naperville Mayor George Pradel commended the Illinois Tollway for bringing the project in on schedule and under budget by $14 million. The new interchange is scheduled to open overnight tonight, November 20, and is part of the Illinois Tollway’s $6.3 billion Congestion-Relief Program.

The new interchange includes four ramps providing access for Eola Road traffic to and from the Tollway via Bilter Road on the north side of I-88 and Diehl Road on the south side of I-88, and will serve daily commuters from Aurora and Naperville as well as commercial truck traffic….

The interchange layout provides on and off access and exits in both directions and accepts IPass/electronic toll collection only! If you need to use cash, use the ramps at Farnsworth Ave, just west of Eola Road. Of interest to locals is the question ‘How will Eola Rd hold up and what will traffic be like now?’ With the addition of this ramp (greatly needed, in my humble opinion) and the opening of Metea Valley High School earlier this fall, we can expect to see a sharp increase in the number of vehicles on Eola.

If you have a chance, go take a look – walk around the display, walk through it. Take a tour of the Millennium Carillon and with the display from above. It is hard to describe the feeling as you walk among the flags. The unique sound of flags snapping in the breeze is almost hypnotic. To see Veterans standing their, paying their respects to comrades and their memories, and what looked to be parents of current service personnel with tears in their eyes, makes for a pretty powerful experience.

Edward Hospital in Naperville sent out this notice regarding the H1N1virus. The following information is provided as a public service and is copied from their website and provides information about treatment  and DuPage and Will county resources.

Important Public Notice About the Flu
Current Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) guidelines for the H1N1 (swine) flu virus, generally healthy people with flu symptoms WILL NOT be tested or treated with drugs like Tamiflu in Emergency Departments or Immediate Care facilities.

The recommended primary treatment for flu is hydration and Tylenol or Ibuprofen for fever/discomfort.

The DuPage County Health Department’s Flu Hotline is (630) 221-7600.

H1N1 Vaccination Information
Edward is not offering the H1N1 vaccine.  The distribution of the H1N1 vaccination is a federal vaccination program. Your local county health department is currently administering the H1N1 vaccination.   Please click on the blue boxes to the right to learn more about how you can receive the H1N1 vaccination from your local health department.
